So, I bought my plane ticket. I leave on August 10th at noon. It's the first one-way ticket I think I've ever bought, and it was more expensive than I expected: about $350.00 . Actually, let us examine some of the costs of my summer:
$112 application fee for Florida Teacher Certification.
$5 for my official transcripts
$23 Fee for a Criminal Background check to send to the school.
$10 for the Apostille I had to request on my Diploma, to get permission to work in Mexico.
And soon I will pay $55 for fingerprinting that goes along with the certification.
Interestingly... I've paid more to get this all set up than I will make for a couple of months down there. Oh well. I am obviously not doing this for the money.
Tara, I am so sad we will not be riding down on a one-way flight together!! And I'm ticked about all the money spent for certification also. You would think that with the extreme certified teacher shortage that the state would be bending over backwards trying to accomodate us. By the way, I love you female soulmate.
